Bulls Rage In Teammate's Memorial Comp

A fitting Harry Bull vs Danny Bull, father/son final was played out in the Charlie Mitchell Memorial Cup with Harry Bull running out as the victor in their former teammate's competition.

The winner of the whole event started proceedings with a 100 finish and an 18 dart leg allowing him to come from 2-1 down to win 3-2 against Paul Palmer.

Danny Bull bagged himself the very first 180 of the evening's play in a final leg shootout success over Lee Roberts that was put away in 15 darts for a 3-2 triumph.

Liam Taylor's 76 checkout accented his 3-1 triumph against Eddie Bull before Phil Taylor netted a 3-2 triumph in his battle with a fourth former teammate of Mitchell, Al Rowe.

Marc Webber's 3-1 triumph versus Mark Sleet was quickly followed by a 3-1 win for Paul Freeman against Dave Webb before the first stage was completed by Zak Smith with a 3-0 triumph over teammate Dave Reed.

Danny Bull continued his title tilt with a 3-1 triumph over Liam Taylor, which contained a 17 darter and another 180 for the victor.

Ant Pearn, who was the lucky recipient of a bye in the first stage, took out Freeman 3-0 thanks in part to a leg in 17 darts of his own.

A second 100 checkout for Harry Bull sat nicely alongside a leg in 18 in a 3-0 demolition of Webber before Phil Taylor battled to success in the final quarter final.

Taylor added two maximums as he recovered from 2-0 down against Smith to claim a 3-2 victory, and a place in the last four.

A remarkable performance by Harry Bull (33.40) blew away Taylor in the first semi as legs in 14, 14 and 17 gave him a 3-0 success.

A third leg 14 darter for Danny Bull turned out to be crucial in Bull booking his place alongside his son as he finished the hopes of Pearn 3-2.

Despite another 18 darter and a third maximum of the competition, Danny Bull succumbed to the majestic form of his offspring as Harry Bull bagged himself a 17 dart leg in a 3-1 win.

The sum of £120 was raised in the annual charity event, which will go to British Heart Foundation in memory of Mitchell's former stablemate Pete Cornish who passed suddenly last year.
