Bryant Heroics Keep Cherry On Top
Nick Bryant's fourteen scores of a ton or more heavily contributed to a 7-4 win for Plymouth City Super League Division B leaders Cherry Tree D at Kings Tamerton A.
Bryant's tally was ticked over to that mammoth total with his team's only maximum and a 118 checkout that was the best finish of the matchup.
Bryant's highlight reel also included a 17 dart leg in a 3-1 individual triumph whilst Danny Hoyle stood out with two maximums for the defeated team.
Hoyle also nailed what turned out to be a crucial leg in 18 to secure a 3-2 individual success whilst teammate Chris Hanwell's 103 three dart combination out shot helped him over the line to a 3-1 victory.
Cherry Tree B's 9-2 win over Kings Tamerton B saw Paul Hoare star with twelve ton plusses over the course of the heavy victory.
Hoare's 3-2 individual success over Matt Nicholson had both players checking with mid range finishes as Hoare's 88 was bettered by a 95 from the defeated party.
The crucial leg in that win was an 18 darter from the victor that eventually decided the contest whilst both aforementioned checkouts were bettered by Logan Carroll's 102 three darter.
Nicholson's teammate Paul Freeman came through a tough test against Tony Reid 3-2 in which an 18 darter from the former helped decide Reid's fate, who himself added a maximum to his night's work.
The undoubted star of Duchy B's narrow 6-5 defeat at Kings Arms A was Courtney Bray who put away 148 at the first time of asking for the highest checkout of across both divisions of the league.
Bray's teammate Rob May showed consistency all night with a 180 topping his ton tally up to the magic ten mark.
The visitors however were denied their second success of the campaign in the final singles rubber as Pete Down won out 3-0 with the scores tied at 5-5.
Hayley Brant's heroics led St Levans to an 11-0 win over Herbert in which Brant excelled in all disciplines of the game.
Brant's ten ton haul was accented by a 180 and a 119 checkout whilst her 3-0 singles win came with the help of a leg in 18 darts.
Fawn A continue to push themselves towards a realistic title challenge after a 9-2 derby day win over Fawn B in which two men dominated the scoring phase.
Dave Roberts joined Bill Scannell in achieving a ten ton haul but the latter had his propped up by two of the three maximums scored in the match.
Scannell was also responsible for one of the two 18 dart legs in the match during his 3-1 win whilst the other came from teammate Reg Matthews.
Matthews added a 113 checkout to his efforts in another 3-1 individual success that bettered an 80 from Roberts earlier in the matchup.
The other 180 in the game was also the only highlight of a difficult night for the designated home side as Steve Dobson fired.
Two 180s from Simon Wilbraham were the only moments of magic for Legends Lounge during a 7-4 win against Hyde Park.
