Bentham Checkout A Piece Of Jake

Jacob Bentham put together a 156 checkout that was the best finish of the week in the Steve Chapman 501 League but still found himself on the wrong end of a 9-2 loss as Cherry Tree D were downed by Kings Arms.



Paul Palmer and Dave Johns led the way in the scoring phase for the away side with thirteen and eleven ton plusses whilst Reg Matthews added the only three treble visit of the contest.


Alfie Ford (27.83) checked legs in 15 and 17 darts for Octagon during a 3-0 win that came in a 9-2 success for Octagon at Victory Hammers.



Ford ended his night on eleven tons to top score whilst teammates Chris Edgecombe and Jayden Dodd were also in good form with ten tons each.


The best moments from the home side came from Kieran Harris and Cleo Trelease who added a 180 and a 106 checkout to the scoreboard.



Jason Pinkerton fired a thirteen ton haul that included his team's only maximum during a 9-2 win for Cherry Tree B against Indian Inn.


Mark Hatherley produced a consistent display for the defeated team with ten tons whilst the only maximum for the defeated team came from the arm of Dan Wilkinson.



Andy Bates' thirteen ton plusses gave Fawn B the platform to stage a comeback 7-4 win against Tradesmans after falling to a 4-1 deficit after the team games.


Bates was flanked by eleven tons from John Mann and Lee Agar ended his night on ten scores of a ton or more.



The hosts' charge was anchored by twelve scores of a ton or more from Rob May whilst 180s from Kevin Evans and Lewis Byrne were the only efforts of it's kind.


Mann (26.37) added a leg in 16 darts during his 3-0 win whilst Evans 17 darter was finished in two at the first time of asking from 94 in his 3-1 loss.



A twelve ton haul from Steve Mills led Cherry Tree C to a 10-1 triumph away at Victory Fireballs in a game that saw Nick Bryant and Nick Miller also had moments of magic.


Miller added the only maximum and Bryant's 3-0 win was accented by a 16 dart leg that was the best leg of 501 in the match.



Liam Taylor fired ten tons for Fawn A but still found himself on the wrong end of a 7-4 defeat at the hands of St Levans.


Taylor and teammate Isaac Taylor both added 180s in the matchup whilst the latter also checked 111 in a single visit during the match, which was the best of all finishes in the game.



Those maximums were two of four in the match as Anna Pearce and Mike Pearce both put up three treble visits for the victors.


A 15 darter from Tex Pearce was the best leg of 501, which came in a 3-0 individual triumph that was one of four singles wins for the away side.



Andrew Cook and Scott Cook both added 180s for King Billy in a 9-2 win over Duchy that saw two excellent individual games.


Andrew Cook checked a leg in 18 darts in his 3-0 singles win whilst Antony Hayman added 15 and 17 darters in another 3-0 triumph.



A Tony Tasker 142 checkout was one of three moments of magic that included a 15 darter from the same player and a 17 dart leg by Kelvin Rowe in an 11-0 win for Victory A at Ivybridge CC.


Cherry Tree A squandered a 5-1 lead to fall to a 6-5 loss at Bluebird, which was finished off by Lewis Whitley in a 3-0 singles win in the final game.



Alan Masters produced the best moments with a 180 and a 113 checkout that narrowly bettered a 110 by Keith Whitley.


Despite Mike Bulmer and Paul Tackle adding maximums, Bar Mez succumbed to Beacon Park by a 6-5 score line.
