Ant-Man's Ton-mania

Antony Hayman produced his magical best for King Billy in the Plymouth City Super League Division A as his heroics led King Billy to an 8-3 success at Cornwall Gate.

Hayman (29.47) buried fifteen scores of a ton or more across the entire matchup and produced three 17 dart legs in his 3-0 individual triumph.

Hayman was supported well in the win by Paul Goundry who topped his ton total up to the fourteen mark whilst Mark Yeoman was also prominent with a ten ton personal tally.

Paddy Archibald showed his finishing prowess with a 101 checkout whilst Lee Doncaster added his team's only two 180s.

Five other three treble visits rained down from the defeated home side with Shaun Dring's ten ton haul propped up with a solitary effort.

A Matt Vosper maximum added to three more from Simon Stevenson who remarkably added two of these in the same 10 dart leg.

Stevenson started a leg of his 3-1 win with back to back 180s that put him on the famous 9 darter, only to miss the 7th dart of the combination.

Stevenson ended that particular singles rubber with an overall ton total of thirteen for the defeated team who are in the mix with seven teams looking to finish behind inevitable champions, Octagon.

If there was any doubt about Octagon's dominance over this format, an 11-0 win over Bluebird A, who looked like they were the closest challengers to them winning the league, has dispelled that.

Neil White led the way in the scoring phase of play with eleven tons and also blitzed through his individual game with a fine 3-0 win over the Compton side's ten ton hitter Glenn Halford.

White (26.37) added a brace of 18 dart legs and the highest checkout of the match with a 130 combination to put away his opponent.

It certainly wasn't all a one man mission as John Mann and Paul Palmer ended the match on ten tons and the exhibition of world class darts started in the doubles and continued throughout the individual phase.

Mann and teammate Fred Goldsmith (27.95) put together 601 legs in 21 and 22 darts before Lee Hellings started the singles as it was meant to go on.

Hellings added a 180 and a 12 dart leg in a 3-1 success before Mann checked in 17 and 18 darts during his 3-0 triumph.

White's heroics were swiftly following by a Palmer 16 darter during his 3-1 win to ensure the runaway leaders claimed all points on offer.

Two of the other teams in that melting pot for the league's bridesmaid, Indian B and Kings Arms B, met in a 6-5 victory for the latter that was spearheaded by Dan Brazier's fourteen ton haul.

Mark Shears was also in good nick for the successful home side with ten tons but he fell in the individuals to Simon Kelly 3-2 thanks to what turned out to be a crucial 106 checkout.

That effort topped up Kelly's ton tally to the eleven mark whilst two of his stablemates, Dave Johns and Paul Carpenter, were both recipients of a '180' call after throwing.

The only three treble visit for the current second placed team came from the arm of Paul Gavican, who also joined Brazier in hitting a 17 darter in respective 3-1 singles wins for the pair.

A tight affair between Cherry Tree C and Steampacket saw George Beckett star for the latter to give them a 6-5 triumph.

Beckett's teammate Marc Webber added the only 180 of the match whilst Beckett's 100 finish was only bettered by Dan Jewell's 103 for the defeated home side.

Ten tons from Harry Bull included the highest checkout of the week with a 147 that took the big finish prize for Indian A during a 10-1 success at Clifton.

Danny Bull was also prominent for the visitors with two 180s on his way to ten tons of his own whilst the Bulls were also clinical at the business end of legs during the singles phase.

Danny Bull was a 3-1 winner thanks in part to a leg in 17 darts whilst Harry Bull was also a 3-1 winner with his best coming in 18 darts.

The only moments of magic from the home side came from the arm of Niall McGarvey who netted a 180 to go alongside a checkout of 120.

Two 180s for Nick Miller helped Cherry Tree A to a 10-1 triumph during their visit to Bluebird Bandits; a win that moved them to third in the table.

Miller's teammate Steve Mills had his finishing boots on with a 15 darter and a checkout of 90 coming in a 3-1 individual success.

Stuart Couling was the only winner for the victors with a 3-1 triumph and also nailed his team's best checkout of the contest with a 74 kill.
