Ant-Man Bugs Bluebird
King Billy settled for a third placed Plymouth City Super League Division A finish after a 6-5 win over Bluebird A who end a distant fourth after the close encounter that was dominated by the antics of Antony Hayman.
Hayman (31.31) ploughed in legs in 15 and 13 darts and also ended his night with fifteen scores of a ton or more.
The man that Hayman defeated, James Stoodley, won his only leg in 18 darts and also claimed a joint high score for his team of eleven tons.
A brace of those Hayman tons were two of the four maximums in the game as Hayman's teammate Lee Doncaster fired a third for his side.
Glenn Halford was the only maximum hitter for the defeated team and finished his night matching Stoodley's eleven ton plusses.
Supporting act to Hayman's heroics was Paul Palmer who nailed ten tons to the board whilst the home side surrendered a 4-1 lead to leave the game on a knife edge at 5-5 going into the last game.
A match that was so closely fought deserved to go down to a last leg decider with Paddy Archibald coming out a 3-2 winner to claim the spoils of a decent battle between himself and his opponent.
The unlucky man in that tie was Dan Hurley who certainly showed his class by ending the match with ten tons for his night's work.
Octagon signed off a stellar title winning campaign with an 11-0 whitewash victory over Indian Inn with John Mann (26.10) once again starring in the success.
Mann was a 3-1 winner with his best leg an 18 darter whilst the talismanic figure also walked away with sixteen scores of a ton or more.
That haul included one of his team's two maximums in the game as Alfie Ford also struck to join his 90 checkout that was the best finish of all thirty-three plundered in the match.
The next best scoring player was Danny Bull for the beleaguered opposition; finishing on eleven scores of a ton or more.
Mann's teammates Lee Hellings and Fred Goldsmith both made an impact in the game with ten ton plusses a piece.
The now two time champions set about their opponents in the very first game with Mann, Ford and Quinton Taylor (28.60) putting away 1001 points in just 35 darts.
In the individual phase, Hellings and Ford jointly shared the best leg of the night with 17 darters in their 3-1 and 3-0 respective wins.
Roger Backway's thirteen ton plus personal haul was one of a number of fine performances in Kings Arms B's 8-3 win at Cherry Tree A.
Dave Johns ended his night with twelve tons as did Simon Kelly whilst the man Kelly beat 3-1 in the individual phase, James Hughes, fired ten tons for the defeated team.
Johns tally was ticked over the duodectet mark with his team's only maximum whilst Melvyn German fired his team's only three treble visit.
At the business end of legs, Tony Gordon's 112 combination was the best finish of the contest overall whilst there was a 17 dart leg for each side in the contest.
Backway put one of those up, which proved to be crucial in a 3-2 win whilst Nick Miller was on the wrong end of a 3-1 defeat despite adding himself a leg in 17.
A 145 checkout for Dan Brazier was the best kill of the final game week; coming in a 10-1 success for second placed Legends Lounge over Bluebird B who did enough to stay up in Division A.
The best effort of the game from the defeated visitors came in the form of a three treble visit by Wayne Oddie, which was the only one of it's kind.
Colebrook's two moments of magic in an 8-3 win at Fawn A came from Will Broome's 118 checkout and a maximum by teammate Nathan Langdon.
