An A-Gar Spangled Banner

Lee Agar's stunning display for Fawn B in a 9-2 Steve Chapman 501 League win over King Billy saw him add two ton plus checkouts and a maximum to his sixteen three figure scores over the course of the event.

One of those ton topping checkouts was a 161 that was the best finish of the match, week across all fixtures, and of the season so far.

Agar had earlier in the match set an admirable high checkout mark of 118 before netting the aforementioned massive kill in a 3-2 win over Scott Cook who ended that matchup on eleven tons.

Cook added a 180 in the defeat by was impervious to the form of Agar who bagged legs in 12, 18 and 18 darts to see him past Cook 3-2.

Whilst Agar was massively impressive, teammate John Mann walked away with the top scoring honours with seventeen scores of a ton or more overall including his team's other maximum.

Mann was a 3-1 winner in the individual phase with legs of 17 and 18 darts doing the damage whilst the other 180s in the game belonged to the defeated team and the arm of Andrew Cook.

Cook netted one in the team phase of play before winning his singles by a 3-0 score line thanks to the help of a second maximum and a leg in 17 darts.

A high scoring game between Victory A and St Levans saw Anna Pearce top score with thirteen ton plusses for the defeated Keyham side in a 6-5 loss.

Tex Pearce matched that tally with thirteen scores of a ton or more and played out an absolute classic in the individual phase with Kelvin Rowe.

Only one of the legs went beyond six visits a legs of 16 and 14 darts from Rowe were not enough to better Pearce who nailed 18 and 15 darters in the 3-2 success.

A 110 checkout also proved critical in the defeat of Rowe who himself ended that encounter on ten tons for his evening's work.

A 15 dart leg for Mike Pearce helped him to a 3-0 win whilst he also got the better of his brother in the finishing stakes with a 124 checkout that was declared the game's best.

Rowe's teammate Quinton Taylor top scored for the victorious side with twelve tons whilst Paul Goundry matched Rowe's ton total with ten of his own.

Goundry was the only 180 hitter for the home side with a brace whilst Tex Pearce fired a solitary maximum to top up his impressive ton total.

Twelve tons from Lee Hellings and ten more from the arm of Dave Lee did the damage for Cherry Tree C in an 11-0 success over Beacon Park.

Lee's tally was ticked over to the dectet mark by the only two maximums in the match whilst at the business end of legs, Hellings and teammate Nick Miller dominated.

Miller's 110 combination was the best checkout of the game whilst Hellings put away legs in 15 and 16 darts in a 3-1 win to better an 18 darter by Steve Smout in a 3-2 defeat for the home side who lost five by a single leg.

Paul Palmer fired an unbeaten twelve tons to lead Kings Arms to a home win by a 7-4 score line over Cherry Tree A.

Palmer was one of four maximum hitters in the tie with teammate Mark Yeoman added a three treble visit to his game high checkout of 87.

For the defeated team, Luke Beard and Simon Wilbraham both heard '180' calls after throwing once each to give the visitors their best moments.

Steve Towl and Phil Ingram both added eleven tons for either side of a 6-5 win for Ingram's Victory Fireballs over Towl's Cherry Tree D.

Ingram showed there was more to his game than scoring with a 92 checkout whilst his teammate Chris Beale added the only maximum of a closely fought battle.

Ten tons from Ian Heggie couldn't arrest Indian Inn's slide to an 8-3 home loss against Octagon, who had Steve Daley in good finishing form.

Daley's 119 three dart combination gave him the best checkout of all thirty checkouts in the match whilst Jayden Dodd showed his undoubted class with two 17 darters in a 3-1 individual success.

The brace of 180s in the match were shared equally amongst the team as Heggie's teammate Mark Hatherley and Dodd's stablemate Robbie Bisgrove both struck.

Neil Reid's ten ton haul included a 116 checkout whilst Dave Burford put on a 18 and a 13 darter to better a leg in 17 by Reid during an 11-0 win for Bar Mez versus Duchy.

Jack McMinn might've top scored with ten tons for the Bluebird, but it was Cherry Tree B who came away with a 9-2 win.

McMinn's tally was propped up by a 103 checkout and a maximum whilst Mark Shears and Phil Hoyle both added 180s for the Pennycross outfit who ended the night still on top of the league standings by one point.

A 180 a piece by Lewis Byrne and Kevin Evans might've been the top scores, but it wasn't enough to see Tradesmans past Fawn A, who claimed a 6-5 away win.

Evans was a 3-2 winner in the individual phase with a 14 darter proving crucial whilst Bill Scannell won by the same score line thanks in part to a 115 checkout.

Whilst there was a 180 for each side with Tom Andrew securing one for Ivybridge and Lee O'Mahony netting for the Victory Hammers, the match was eminently more one sided with a 10-1 success to the latter.
