AJ Knockout Blows Help Victory Finish Strongly

AJ Brunton put up a top scoring twelve tons during a 9-2 triumph in the Plymouth City Super League Division B for fifth placed Victory over Kings Arms A, who end the campaign tenth.



A 180 for each team also lit up the tie as Brunton's stablemate Chris Beale and Kings Arms' Pete Down both fired whilst Down's teammate Darran Bailey added the best checkout of 71.


Harry MacGregor fired ten tons for seventh placed St Levans but still found himself on the wrong end of a 6-5 loss when Kings Tamerton A visited Keyham.



Brad Hamlyn checked the best finish of the matchup and week across all fixtures with a 130 combination that helped his team maintain a third placed finish in the final standings.


Alan Brady bagged a 112 in a single visit to help Fawn B edge out Duchy A in a 6-5 win that saw Brady claim a 3-0 individual triumph that won the game in the eleventh and final rubber as Fawn end in ninth.



Jack Heath contributed a kill of 100 whilst his teammates Jordan Heath and Martin Dean both added three treble visits for the defeated home side who end the campaign in twelfth.


A 10-1 home win for Fawn A over Duchy B rounded off a brilliant season in which the Greenbank outfit managed a second placed finish.



Dave Clemson joined teammate Dave Pethick in securing a 180 whilst Ruth Thomson notched her first ever competitive maximum for the defeated visitors who prop up the pile in the final reckoning.


A single visit checkout of 80 was plundered by Mike Trim was the best combination out shot of the thirty finishes that were nailed to the board across the contest.



Champions Cherry Tree D ended their stellar campaign with a 9-2 success over eleventh best Hyde Park that featured a 90 checkout for Stan Preen and a maximum for Bob Wood.


Lee Hunter showed guile throughout Legends Lounge's 10-1 win at Herbert with a 180 and a 79 checkout during his 3-0 individual triumph.



Hunter had to withstand two maximums in the same leg of 501 from the man he defeated, Dale Partington, whilst Hunter also teamed with Sean Burkitt to put away 601 in 20 darts.


Partington's teammate Adey Veale added a 70 combination out whilst Hunter's stablemate Will Broome added a fourth 180 to the contest between the fourth placed side and the defeated team that end fourteenth overall.



A top six finish was secured in the final reckoning after Cherry Tree B's 8-3 defeat of eighth best Victoria in which Paul Hoare showed his sharpshooting with a 96 checkout.


The defeated home side had Gary Eaton in decent form with a 17 dart leg but the Plymstock based player succumbed to a 3-2 loss in the individual phase.
