A Washing-Ton Of Fun
Simon Washington (28.36) produced legs in 18 and 15 darts during a 3-0 success for Fawn B that came in an 11-0 Steve Chapman 501 League triumph over Bar Mez.
One of that trio of legs saw Washington bag himself a leg with a fine combination out shot of 142 in that particular win.
Teammate John Mann added legs in 16 and 17 darts during his 3-1 win whilst Andy Bates was a 3-1 winner thanks in part to a leg in 18.
Washington also performed notably in the doubles phase as he teamed with Fred Goldsmith in the 601 phase to take a leg in 17 in a 2-0 win.
Mann blew all twelve on display away with his power scoring as he finished up on fifteen ton plusses whilst Washington, Goldsmith and Bates ended their night on eleven tons each.
Six 180s were called throughout the dominant display with Washington's brace added to by Mann, Goldsmith and Lee Agar whilst Scott Town was the only member of his cohort to hear 180 called.
Quinton Taylor's seventeen scores of a ton or more helped Victory A to a 9-2 success over Tradesmans in which three of his teammates were also in good nick during the scoring phase.
Scott Lawrey was almost as prolific as Taylor with thirteen tons whilst Paul Goundry and Tony Tasker finished on eleven tons apiece.
Lawrey added a 180 to his ton total and checked two legs in 17 darts, which proved to be the difference in a 3-1 triumph.
The leg that Lewis Byrne won in that tie came with a 158 checkout that was the best finish of the week across all fixtures.
That brilliant effort pushed Goundry's 120 kill into second place whilst Kelvin Rowe also has his finishing boots on with a leg in 18 darts coming in a 3-1 triumph.
Byrne's teammate Kevin Evans showed his best in one explosion of brilliance that saw him put on his team's only maximum.
Jayden Dodd was a ton hitter on sixteen occasions for Octagon in their 6-5 win over Bluebird who themselves had Lewis Whitley checking 100 in a single visit.
Dodd's teammate Alfie Ford showed his undoubted class with a ten ton haul of his own during the matchup that saw the away side recover from 4-2 and 6-3 down to make the score line respectable.
King Billy had a field day in the scoring phase of play with four men reaching double figures for ton plusses across the fixture.
The most prominent of which was Andrew Cook with two 180s on his way to thirteen scores of a ton or more whilst both Scott Cook and Frankie Stout were eleven ton hitters.
Scott Cook's tally would've ended at ten if it wasn't for a 103 checkout that was proclaimed the best of the matchup.
Antony Hayman added one of his two maximums in a doubles game with Scott Cook that saw one of legs in the 2-0 win put away in just 16 darts.
Stout won a crucial 16 darter in his 3-2 singles triumph whilst Hayman bagged legs in 16 and 17 darts during a 3-0 victory.
Eleven tons were ploughed home by Lee Hellings for the Cherry Tree C in an 11-0 win over Duchy that saw Hellings join Nick Bryant in adding a 180 to the tie.
Hellings was a 3-1 winner in the individual phase with an 18 darter his best whilst teammate Sarah Brown added a three dart combination out shot of 122 in a 2-0 doubles win.
Rikki Eastley ended on ten tons, including a 115 checkout but still found himself on the wrong end of a 7-4 loss as Eastley's Ivybridge CC were defeated by Indian Inn.
Eastley's heroics in the finishing stage outshone three checkouts from the victors as checkouts of 72 and 83 from Mark Hatherley and a 90 by Brian Gourlay all settled for bridesmaid positions.
Tex Pearce added a 90 checkout to his ten ton plus personal tally that led St Levans to an 8-3 win over Victory Hammers.
The only moment of magic conjured by the defeated team came from the arm of Ryan Harris who added a 180 to his night's work.
Beacon Park had Jason Smout score ten tons and Ashley Evens finish 74 in a single visit but still found themselves on the wrong end of an 8-3 loss at the hands of Cherry Tree D.
Ten tons from Dave Johns led Kings Arms to an 8-3 win over Victory Fireballs, which saw the defeated team more than contribute to proceedings.
Neal Walters 100 checkout and a 98 by Phil Ingram added to a leg in 17 from AJ Brunton, which proved crucial in a 3-2 triumph.
The only effort to better those checkouts was from the arm of Johns' teammate Paul Hendy who netted a 120 combination out.
