A Good Mann Is Hard To Find
John Mann's seventeen ton plusses wasn't bettered by any competitor during Octagon's Plymouth City Super League game week 43 8-3 win over Bluebird.

Individually, Mann was pushed all the way to that mammoth total by Glenn Halford who added thirteen ton plusses of his own over the course of the evening.
Both players fired in 180s, whilst Mann's 110 checkout that bagged the highest of the match proved to be crucial in the five leg win for the Octagon stalwart.

Mann (27.72) also won a leg in 18 darts with Halford riposte in 16 proving to be fruitless as he was eventually defeated 3-2.
Mann's teammate Lee Hellings was also in blistering form for the now confirmed champions with a thirteen ton personal haul in the match.

Hellings (29.47) bagged a brace of 180s during a 3-0 singles win that was further accented by legs in 13 and 18 darts.
Neil White (31.31) claimed the only average that got the better of Hellings' attempt with a brace of 15 darters and one in 18 to take a 3-0 success.

White's victory saw him nail a maximum and check 103 in a single visit; both of which topped up a personal ton tally of eleven.
Also netting eleven tons in the match was Dave Matthews who defeated Lee Roberts 3-2 in the singles in spite of Roberts' 108 checkout.

Roberts effort usurped a 100 kill from Glenn Austin whilst the only individual winner for the visitors was James Stoodley who checked legs in 16 and 18 darts during a 3-1 triumph.
A second 16 darter was hit by Fred Goldsmith with a 17 darter alongside it in a 3-1 triumph that made it five out of six singles; this after the Stonehouse team went 1-0 down and were level 2-2 after four played.

Great credit must be given to the new champions who have been relentless all season; averaging 9.7 points per eleven leg contest; being beaten just once in forty-one outings.
Strengthening their roster off the back of a disappointment in 2022 after losing the league by a single point has certainly paid off.

A 7-4 victory for Colebrook over Cherry Tree was dominated by the form of Dave Hollow who added fifteen three figure scores overall.
Hollow was well supported by sparing partner Nathan Langdon who checked 100 and 101 on his way to thirteen three figure scores on the night.

Langdon's smaller checkout of the two was at the end of a 1001 leg that was put away in just 35 darts as Langdon teamed with Darren Smith and Hollow (28.60) for the win.
Smith was a third player to reach double figures in tons for his team as he completed his ten three figure score haul in a 3-0 win that produced a 17 darter.

That leg was beaten twice by Cherry Tree players as Steve Mills added a 16 dart leg in a 3-1 win before Dave Lee checked a leg in 15 during a 3-2 defeat to Hollow.
Lee contributed heavily all night for his Pennycross side as he top scored for the defeated team with thirteen ton plusses.

An 8-3 win for Fawn A over Saltram saw two men standout for the Greenbank side; the foremost of which was Dave Roberts who topped out at thirteen three figure scores whilst teammate Simon Stevenson added eleven.
Roberts however was beaten in the individuals 3-2 by Saltram's own thirteen ton man, Warren Gordon, who checked 88 during that tie for the highest checkout of the match.

Antony Hayman's 120 checkout tipped his individual ton total over to the eleven mark in a 10-1 win for King Billy over Bluebird B.
There was four 180s in the match with a Paul Goundry pair being joined by one each from teammates Paul Palmer and Paddy Archibald.

Hayman's 3-0 win saw him check a leg in 15 that was the only effort on the night that bested a 17 darter from Palmer in another 3-0 success.
The Compton side had to wait right until the very last rubber of the evening for their first point as Dale Halford rounded off an eleven ton personal haul in a 3-2 triumph.

Ker St were defeated 6-5 by Fawn B, but it wasn't for the lack of effort from Ian Heggie who threw ten tons during the reversal.
Heggie's teammate Pete Lamerton checked 98 in a 3-2 individual loss that was only bettered by Alan Brady's 101 in a 3-0 win that gave his team an unassailable 6-4 score line with one to play.

A 146 finish from Anna Pearce in an 8-3 win over Victory C was the best mustered by all players on display as Pearce bagged the highest checkout of the week for the league.
Pearce's effort usurped husband Tex Pearce's 125, which was finished by a real eye-catching 25, Bull, Bull whilst the best for the visitors came in the form of a 92 finish from James Smith.

Mr and Mrs Pearce also wrote headlines in the individual phase; each checking a leg in 18 during 3-0 wins whilst teammate Harry MacGregor's 180 was the only one of it's kind in the matchup.
Big checkouts of 112 and 114 from Roger Ford and Mick Bingham couldn't stop Victoria from sliding to a 6-5 defeat in their visit to Clifton.

Wayne Davis added an 18 dart leg in the match before Wayne Town scored in the only maximum of the match in the deciding tie of the match that was won 3-2 with the scores locked at 5-5.
George Beckett's performance once again lit up a Steampacket win as the Devonport outfit came away from their visit to Kings Arms B with a 6-5 success.

Beckett checked 110 in a single visit and also threw the only maximum of the contest; making it a triple with a 15 dart leg in a 3-0 win that gave him the best leg of the contest.
That Beckett effort was the only victory to outstrip Paul Carpenter's 18 dart leg in a 3-1 final encounter win that made the score line a little more respectable for the Oreston side.

Pete Dunbar was in vintage form as he took a leg in 17 darts and bagged a 100 checkout during Kings Arms A's 11-0 win at Duchy B.
Dunbar's teammate Darran Bailey put the only maximum onto the scoreboard during another victory by a 3-0 score line.

Paul Hoare's 104 checkout lit up Victory B's 9-2 win over Hyde Park whilst Victory A propped up their comfortable third placing in the standings with an 8-3 triumph over Duchy A.
