Brewery Tap maintain winning ways with 8-3 success

BREWERY Tap maintained their winning ways in the Plymouth City Super League with an 8-3 defeat of Kings Arms B.

John Mann (26.37) was a 3-0 winner in 26, 16 and 15 but catching the eye was Dave Johns (pictured) for the Oreston side.

He defeated Andy Bates 3-0, aided by a leg in 15 and subsequently the defeat has cost Bates his joint-second spot in the individual table.

St Levan Inn won four of the six singles to prevail by the narrowest of margins against Bluebird A while The Fawn won 8-3 against their Greenbank neighbours Clifton.

Warren Page was on target with a brace of 180s as Kings Arms A plundered all 11 points against Hyde Park Social Club while The Staddy won in double figures when restricting Ker St B to a single point.

Dave Algar won 3-1 in 18, 17 and 21 and Marc Cresswell (100x14) was their leading marksman.

Simon Godfrey (100x12) top scored for Kings Tamerton CC in their 8-3 defeat of Plympton Cons B while Victory Inn B won 8-3 away at Victoria.

Octagon Social Club were in a rich vein of form before going on to inflict a 9-2 defeat on Ker St A.

Alfie Ford, Dave Matthews (100x14) and Fred Goldsmith won the opening treble in 36 darts (27.81) before Matthews and Ford clinched their doubles in 37 (27.05).

Phil Hoyle (100x12) was on target for Maritime A as they defeated stablemates Maritime B 7-4 while Victory Inn A were buoyed by a 3-0 win in 18, 21 and 18 (26.37) from Stew Roberts which was the highlight of their 10-1 defeat of Bluebird Bandits.

Neal Hotchkiss hit two maximums as Steam Packet defeated Cherry Tree 8-3 but Steve Mills for the Pennycross side won the plaudits when he hit the highest possible checkout of 170, the fourth time that the mark has been achieved in this campaign.
