Hayman hits the heights again with average of 35.16
ANTONY Hayman put in another outstanding performance for Porters as they cruised to an 8-1 victory over Whipton Wasps (Exeter) in division one of the Devon County Super League.
The victory put them up into joint second place, just three points behind the leaders as Hayman (pictured) led the charge with a brilliant 35.16 average.
He went 2-0 up in 15 and 14 followed by an 11-darter which he finished with a kill of 100 before taking the fourth and decisive leg in 17.
Paul Gavican (22.89) opened their account with a 4-2 victory, before Mark Shears (28.23) emerged a 4-0 winner in 19, 19, 15 and 18, aided by a brace of 180s.
Two 4-1 victories followed for Sam Frampton (19.66) and Scott Wapshott (20.20) before Phil Stewart (27.34) caught the eye in a 4-3 victory.
Stewart went 3-0 up in 22, 17 and 13 and although he was pegged back to 3-3, held his nerve to deliver the seventh and decisive leg in 16.
Paddy Archibald (18.01) also had to go the full distance but delivered a point for the team before Scott Cook (25.88) won 4-1 which included a 15-darter that he finished with an outshot of 130.
Levy Ladies are in joint second place with Loco Ladies (Exeter) after beating them 4-3, despite being 4-1.
Maria O’Brien (22.57) opened their account with a lady of the match performance and in winning 3-1, achieved a checkout of 110.
Anna Johnson (17.89) and Hayley Brant (14.74) both won in three straight legs while there was a 3-1 success for Cat Callard (17.59).
Maritime Ladies returned to winning ways and secured all but one of the seven points that were on offer when they hosted Cully Belles (Cullompton).
Kayleigh Adams got the first point on the board when she won 3-2, aided by a maximum 180, and there were also victories for Sue Pullen and Lisa Aston after they too had to go the full five legs.
Julia Langdon and Cleo Trelease won 3-0 and 3-1 respectively before lady of the match Kerry Jenkins (27.68) won 3-0.
