Porters Patriots consolidate with win over Governors
THE Patriots consolidated their position at the top of the Porters Function Room 501 Top 20 League when defeating Maritime Governors 7-4 in a fixture that saw six maximum throws recorded.
Danny Allen hit two of them in a 3-2 win for Governors and his team-mate Jason Pinkerton caught the eye when winning 3-0, aided by a leg in 14.
Top scorers for the winners were John Mann (100x12) and Scott Cook (100x12).
Paul Flower (pictured) recorded the week’s highest checkout of 158, inspiring Victory Inn A to a 10-1 defeat of Torpoint Cons while Fawn B also won on the road and overcame Indian Inn 9-2.
Robbie Newland (100x14) top scored for Fawn while Fred Goldsmith emerged a 3-0 singles winner with his best leg being won in 15.
Kings Arms are up in second place after a 10-1 defeat of Maritime Nutters and had Paul Palmer hitting two maximums in a 3-0 singles victory which included a leg in 15.
A 601 doubles victory in 17 darts, executed by Ralph Lancaster (100x12) and Dave Pethick was the highlight of Octagon’s 9-2 success away at Victory Inn B while Maritime Musketeers won 8-3 at Brewery Tap.
Joint top scorers for Musketeers were Kenny McCollum (100x13) and Peter Holland (100x13) while Maria O’Brien (100x12) replied for the hosts.
The Office edged out Porters Pretenders 6-5 but the scoreline could have been so different after four of the six singles won by the winners went the full five legs.
Maritime Misfits defeated Falstaff 7-4 but not before the Southway side had Brian Tritton winning 3-1, aided by a 15-darter which he finished with a kill of 150.
