MARITIME and Brookside A are joint leaders of the Monday Premier League after they both won their matches 10-1.
The Keyham side defeated Hyde Park Social Club but the one point that eluded them was a doubles victory for Steve Duke and Rick Trinder.
Duke (pictured below), also caught the eye in the individual phases when he took Shaun Dring (100x14) to 2-2, before being edged out in the deciding fifth leg.
Brookside were winners against Plympton Cons and recorded 59 throws of a ton or more.
Gary Phillips top scored with 100x14 and emerged a 3-1 winner in the singles, aided by a leg in 15.
Paul Bowen (100x15) played well for Cons and hit a 15-darter before going down 3-2 to Keelan Kay (100x14).
Steam Packet B are just one point off the pace in third after a 9-2 defeat of Brookside B while Brewery Tap took all the points from their visit to Prince Maurice B.
Antony Hayman was their leading marksman and top scored with 12 throws of a ton or more which included two maximums that came in a 3-0 singles victory.
A 15-darter from Stewart Roberts was the highlight of Bluebird B’s 8-3 win at Indian Inn B, while Scott Wapshott (100x15) was the top player for Porters A in their 10-1 victory over Octagon B.
The Tradesman defeated Indian Inn A 9-2, inspired by Lee Rodmell, who emerged a 3-1 winner in 17, 17 and 16.
Paul Tackle also caught the eye when equalling the week’s best checkout with a mark of 127.
Mike Whatley (100x15) impressed for Indian Inn and hit a 13-dart leg in a 3-2 singles success against Andy Waters (15, 19).
Cherry Tree defeated Steam Packet A 9-2 while Ford Hotel edged out Porters B 6-5.
Lee Hellings (100x12) was consistent throughout for Octagon A in their whitewash of City Social while Rob Thorning (100x12) was Bluebird A’s talisman in their defeat of Prince Maurice A by the narrowest of margins.
