Devon Youth win for Frankie at just 12-years of age
DEVON Youth moved to within five points of leaders Glamorgan after beating a depleted Cornwall side 12-3 in their latest Southern Counties Youth League fixture.
Cliff Townsley (18.26) got the first point on the board for the under 18 side when he came from 2-1 down to win 3-2 before the youngest member of the team, 12-year-old Frankie Stout (19.27), doubled their lead with a 3-0 victory that began with an 18-darter.
Owen Bates (21.78) also won in three straight legs before Keelan Kay (25.02) made it 4-0 when winning 3-1 in 19, 18 and 16.
GOOD PERFORMER: Frankie Stout, who at just 12 years of age put in a good performance which began with an 18-dart leg before going on to a 3-0 victory, earning him a 19.27 average.
Jordan Grimshaw (15.18) and Pacey Large (16.16) both added to the Devon haul when winning without loss before Cornwall took the last.
Devon girls came back from a 1-0 deficit to win 2-1 when Cleo Trelease and Rhea Winsor both obliged 3-1, before a convincing victory was wrapped up by Devon under 21s.
Sam Palmer (21.42) got their first point on the board, despite having to go the full five legs while also winning by a 3-2 margin were Chris Raddon (16.52) and Tom Osborn (15.08) before an excellent 3-0 victory from Curtis Green (25.05), which began with a win in 15, ended a good day for Devon.
